Hi I was driving home today and was slowing down for a roundabout so I went from 5th gear down to 2nd, I let off the clutch and engine started reving when I tried to pull out so I took it out of gear and tried again but the same thing happened. Managed to get it into 1st and pulled away fine but again couldn't get 2nd so tried 3rd and this was fine. Tried to go into 4th and the same as 2nd. Got home and sitting on the drive with the engine off I tried to select all the gears, it's going into 1st, 3rd, 5th and reverse but not 2nd, 4th or 6th. Neutral also seems to be sitting closer to the arm rest (if that makes sense lol).

I'm assuming I've got a linkage problem??

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for the rambled on post

Seems like endlinks need re-adjusting.
Or the securing clip fell off.

It actually is. But you'll probably have to remove the air intake. Plenty of info on the internet. Search for vw 2.0tfsi 6 speed gear endlinks adjustment, or something like that.
