Bought a A4 1.9tdi 130 2004 yesterday. Drove it 25 miles home mostly consisting of motorway miles. When accelerating pulling through 3rd gear the car went into limp mode and lost turbo, after turning the ignition on and off the turbo came back. One thing I have noticed is a noise when I let off the turbo bit like a dump valve. When I got home I put a obd reader on the car and it read a P0234 code. What could this be, I don't want to start taking the turbo out before checking other potential reasons. Any help guys

I've had a kind of dump valve noise from my car when letting off throttle.
It's always been there and after finding a YouTube vid which sounded the same I've (rightly or wrongly)put it down to the turbo actuator.
I've also had mine going into limp mode under boost, when this happened I tried moving the actuator by hand and it wouldn't budge.
I popped some turbo cleaner in it, then drove it, once warmed up kept the revs high along the motorway.
I could then move the actuator by hand albeit it quite stuff, but moving.
Might be worth a shot of the turbo vanes aren't too crudded up
