Hi All,

I have just had my second service at 38k miles - and was comparring the invoice with that of the first service at 19k miles.

On the first service - Audi used Long Life III 5 / 30 oil which I think is a Castrol product. Cost for 4.7 litres £48.09. On the second service I see that a different oil is used, the part number on the invoice being WZGB 115 QLB 01 50, this being a Quantum product and significantly cheaper at £27.18 for 5 litres.

Any views on whether they may have used an inferior product or it it simply the Castrol brand attracts a premium.

Nick

Quantum does the job & is made in spec. This is something my garage would use if I don’t bring my own oil.
What is the Audi spec for your car as you have the facelift? 507?

I now use this oil because of the nanotechnology. Really rate this oil. Millers Oils NANODRIVE EE LongLife 5W-30. Car feels peppier in the midrange. It’s 507 Audi spec. Costs £40. I change my oil every 10k regardless what the oil service says.
