Hi all!
I am in the process of a picking up a TT mk1 (225) (117,000 miles) in the coming days for 2k.
I know they have had a few problems in the past and being a V reg (2000) its 20 years old, so maybe I should expect them!

What am I looking for in particular to issues, I'm no expert by any means so any help would be much appreciated. Photos show the car to be sound with no damage.
I guess a test drive would be essential, hopefully the seller will allow this, what with social distancing at present!

Best Regards
Rich

Bump for interest as I've also been looking at a mk1 03 plate and would like so information instead of making a new thread :)

had a 52 plate mk1 back in the day

electrics where a nightmare - faulty hazard relay meant indicators would stop working
dashpods also pronbe to failure - look for fuel and temp gauges not resting in the right position
Pixels go on dashboards
gearbox can be prone to second gear failing

I fitted a short shift which transformed the car
