Finally got my documents through for my private plate transfer.
the garage have sent me my new plates but the problem is the plates on the car seem like they are welded on:uhm:

Anyone got any tips for removing the plates from the car,I'm guessing they are attached with very powerful adhesive pads:uhm:

The other dilema is do I use the "shorty" plate or standard?

Thanks

DO NOT just pull them hard. I tried this when I got my new BFG plates and there's a rubber mat underneath (I guess to stop vibration) which ripped. Try heating it with a hair drier and then pulling it off, that's what I plan to do with my next car.

I removed my plates inorder to remove the frame with the dealers name. For both the front ant the back I used a thin bladed screw-driver behind the plate and gentle edge it away from the bodywork/bumper. Both were then refixed with special number plate adhesive pads from Halfords.

Be careful if you are thinking of using a 'shorty' plate as there are some fixings behind the rear plate that you will want the plate to cover.

Personally I think a private number looks better on a standard size plate.
