JOM Coilovers

I'm looking at getting a set of JOM coilovers for my 2.0 Quattro, but in the description it mentions about shortened drop links for going lower than 40mm.

I did a search and found this thread:

What I'm wondering though is if I get and fit shortened drop links but end up lowering say 30mm - 35mm, would there be any negative impact?

If you're unsure on the exact height you're going on the JOM kit then you'll be best going for adjustable drop links.
