Firstly I'm new to the forum so i hope I've posted this in the correct part of the forum. Very kindly a deer decided to run out into the road yesterday and do its best to damage my S-line B8.5 estate, ****** gutted, I'd only polished and waxed it that morning.

Anyways I'm hoping to repair the car myself, i have a basic mechanical understanding but love a go at this sort of thing. I'm hoping in by creating this thread people will be able to assist me along the way as i inevitably get stuck with things.

Already im finding lots of front bumpers advertised for B8's but I think I'm correct in that they wont fit my B8.5 (62 plate).

At the moment the damage looks to include the front bumper, drivers side wing, drivers side head and fog lights, air conditioning condenser, the front washer motor and components and a whole host of brackets. Where is the best place to find all the part numbers for these items? If anyone knows of any of these parts been available that would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Tom

You've gone above and beyond there mate, thank you very much.

I can't take a lot of credit, I just cut and paste it from my project thread :) One thing worth noting is that buying a pattern wing isn't super expensive, don't do what I did and buy a wing from a breakers for more money than the pattern part, have it turn up damaged, fail to get your money back and then buy a pattern part that fit better anyway...

good luck with your rebuild!

It's funny you say that Simon, i used a pattern wing on my B7 and i was pleasantly surprised with it. I had planned on buying a pattern front bumper but I've been advised from a lad i trust, not to use pattern front bumpers. Have you any experience with these?

I bought an rs4 style bumper from the place I linked too, fit was perfect.

Any reason not to go through your own insurance? My daughter did the same thing on her Fiat 500. Granted, the cars are poles apart, but I did the work myself, but the car was 2009. Ended up fibre-glassing the front bumper crack from behind to avoid a paint-job.

2-3 winters ago I literally grazed a wall at work after the car skidded in the car park (learnt my lesson so switched to Michelin CrossClimate+ tyres). The point I'm making is that the Xenon headlight unit is £700 alone.

One thing about part numbers, if given part numbers for each side, the one with the odd number is always for the LHS.

Third part, fire and theft, that's why. Live and learn i suppose.
