Hi guys,
I have a new problem with my car - the clutch won't allow me to select gears.
I drove to McDonald's this morning and a couple of gear changes had a slightly odd shudder when engaging, but nothing awful and the car drove fine otherwise in the 20 minute round trip.
Got home, shut the car off and tried to go out again later. Engine all fine, just can't put it into gear when engine on.
Symptoms:
Could this be a problem with the master cylinder, or slave cylinder? Or is this likely to be a whole clutch job?
Thanks
Jack

Got home, shut the car off and tried to go out again later. Engine all fine, just can't put it into gear when engine on.
Symptoms:
- Clutch pedal works and feels totally normal
- Car WILL go into gear when engine is off without issue
- When starting the car in gear, starting the car will move the car, so it's like the clutch isn't doing what the pedal says. I can start the car with the clutch up or down to get the same result.
- Car will shift into gears once moving and the revs match up (i.e. bypassing the clutch)
- Clutch will not allow me to select gears as it usually would
Could this be a problem with the master cylinder, or slave cylinder? Or is this likely to be a whole clutch job?
Thanks
Jack
