Hello.

I put some paddle shifter extensions on a while back. I know, not to everyone's taste. I now regret doing so because the additional leverage meant that an over zealous shift as snapped the thing off completely, along with the original paddle shifter. UGH.

I've ordered a replacement but now I need to a) remove the damaged plastic which has snapped off and is stuck in situ and b) install the new ones.

I think the main problem is that there's vertical bar around which the paddle pivots. I also think I need to remove the whole mount from the back of the steering wheel to access it.

You can see the damaged plastic on the upper right in the pic. Has anyone else had this? Can I use a pry tool to remove the whole black surround and hopefully access the vertical bar?

I'd be grateful for any help.

Thanks.
