Hi All,

Absolutely baffled by the issue I'm having, could really do with some support, so here goes -

Car originally had a very bad idle, where the car revs jumped from 800 to 1200, very erratically. After some research, I decided to replace the fuel rail pressure regulator and the fuel rail pressure sensor. This cured the erratic idle problem, which was great, but brought another problem with it.

The first issue was as soon as I put the 2 x new parts in, it instantly came up with error code 5244 - fuel pressure sensor P0193, had the flashing glow plug code on the dash and was constantly in limp mode.

I changed the new fuel pressure sensor and put the old one back in. The idle was still fixed and the error code disappeared. The problem now is that the car runs fine until I get to 2,000 revs and then it goes into limp mode and gives me error code 5211 - fuel rail/system pressure too low P0087. This disappears every time I restart the car but returns when I accelerate over 2k revs.

I'm not sure on what the next step is. It did bring up a previous error code of 4985 - glow plug circuit electrical fault P0672, I'm not sure if this is related. I tested the resistance of each glow plug and glow plug 2 was the only one that came back without showing a result on my multimeter (all other glow plugs was between 0.5 and 2 ohms, but number 2 didn't respond. (This code doesn't show now since I've reset codes).

I will post the results from VCDS below.

The 1st Log is when I replaced both parts. The 2nd log is after putting the old fuel pressure sensor back in.

I'm thinking the new sensor and regulator needing coding in or adaptions resetting?

Log your rail pressure and rail pressure request. Check and see if there is a massive delta between them. Sounds like it could be HPFP.

Thank you for the reply.

I'm not fully up to scratch with VCDS, could you explain how I log these please?

Also, would it be the HPFP as there were no issues before and they only came to light after replacing the regulator and sensor?
