Honeycomb grill

Could anyone tell me the best way to trim a bumper like this so it doesn’t have the ref plate cover ready for a grill like in the picture ?

My A3 is 8P so it may be a bit different but here is how I tackled it.

I cut mine like this:

This is before the cut, the grille would not fit

Cut the centre piece:

Attach the rings base and licence plate:

Done:

Note:

I painted the aluminum bumper with PlastiDip. That way you can’t see it through the grille and PlastiDip won’t chip.

As above, just cut straight through, either side.

Cheers mate that’s a big help, did you just use a Stanley knife or similar to do the cut ?
 
Multitool, dremel, hacksaw, grinder, whatever cuts easiest for you.
