I am searching for an answer to a query regarding DQ500 gearboxes.

I need to source a replacement for my 2018 RS3. I have not been able to find a gearbox with the correct part number (0DL300012H) and gearbox code (TCR).

According to the parts list below, shown specifically for my VIN, there were 3 different gearboxes fitted. The part numbers are 0DL300012E, 0DL300012H, and 0DL300013E with the gearbox codes SDQ, TCR and TTU respectively. If I purchase a gearbox of one of the other codes, will this work in my car if I use the mechatronics unit from the original gearbox? Or, will it work if I use the donor mechatronics, if it is coded to the main ecu?

What are the differences, if any? Ratios? Quattro/Non Quattro? Are there any differences between all DQ500 gearboxes, or are they all the same?

I'm basically trying to find options of what could work, as sourcing an exact replacement seems impossible.

Thanks in advance for your time and advice...

I don’t know if there is a difference in hardware, but a month ago I updated the software versions of 0DL300013L 3120 and 0DL300013E 3020 for my RS3 0DL300012E 2012 to try, no problem, even better than the original 0DL300012E 2012 shift logic.

Did you just ask a dealer to upgrade the software? What's the process here?
