99 A3 1.8T CD player error?

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!

Anyone encountered the same?

I cant work out whats wrong and dont want to take it into audi, I prefer my pants around my waist!

The display just says error, flips to the next disc and the same etc.?

Have you tried cleaning the lens in the changer?
Either use a CD cleaner or take the top off the changer and use a cotton bud and some lighter fluid.

I have the same problem; I'm going to look into taking it out and leaning it tomorrow.

I've had no luck. I had the changer out, gave it a good shake and a blow but nothing. It's pretty difficult to take out, very confined space. You have to take the left cluster out too, to access the screws on the Changer cage.

I'm going to try to CD cleaner soon... fingers crossed.

well just to update the cd cleaner didn't work. Nice waste of £12

i get the same..either CD ERR 3 which seems to lock up the whole changer and CD ERR 1 which is just a bad cd.

for a long time Cd slot 3 never worked, and the it did. I find that if you switch around the cds in no particular order, if locks the mechanism, so you have to eject and re insert the cartridge.

i've just lived with it.. and never use CD-RWs and cheap CD-Rs as they never seem to register.
