Looking for advice, had a noise when the clutch was up and when pushed down the noise stopped, some people suggested the clutch release bearing was on its way out, i have had a new clutch kit fitted but the mechanic mentioned there was play on the differential whilst he had it off, he took it for a drive when put all back together and said the gearbox has a problem, so im now looking for a new gearbox, he contacted a breakers yard down the road and they have a MK6 golf, 08/09 reg gearbox ready for the taking, just worried about it not being any good with compatibility with my car, many thanks to any responses
