Audi A3 8V 2013 vcds codes

Hi everyone,
I am new on this forum.
I have Audi A3 8V 2013 for 2 years, and i bought vcds program and tool 2months ago. I tried to do some coding, and that was successfull, but i have some questions.
First of all, i did so good update on my car, with so much safety functions etc. I tried to active hold assist without retrofitting the button, and sometimes its working, sometimes it doesnt work, maybe i just dont know how to use it. I have never seen a green ( P ) light on my board. I remember one time, when i was on a hill, i pressed the brake harder for 5 seconds and the car stood still until i released the clutch and press gas pedal, now i tried on other hills, and it doesnt work.
Also i did coded reversing mirrors, and they arent working, i did it step by step and put the joystick on driver side door on passenger mirror, but nothing happens. I have navigation and i have traffic signs on it, but when i active traffic sign recognition it doesnt show on my board computer only on navigation on the audi MMI.
The other thing i wanted to ask is the MMI update and can i play .avi .mp4 on my MMI because i saw so much videos on youtube, where they are playing some videos and songs with video.

Re the mirror dip on reversing mod, can you share the coding you used?

I've enable this on my A3 and works fine.

Does the car have folding mirrors ? Needs them for reverse dip AFAIK.
Hold assist talks to electronic hand brake and clutch so maybe some extra coding changes in that area are required.

I enabled everything i needed, but my mirrors aren't folding either, maybe that's the problem. My friend have audi 8p 2008 and his mirrors are folding, mine arent :/ I activated folding mirrors, but maybe that wasnt in my car package

No, the mirrors aren't folding automatically after locking the car, i activated the code for folding mirrors, but they doesnt fold.

Do you know what i need for hold assist, i changed it to always active, today i tried and my car was downhill and i tried to go reverse, i released the electronic brake and released foot brake and my car stood still for 5 seconds and started rolling downhill, i tried again and again and it worked, but when im uphill , for going forward it doesnt work. i will send you code from parking brake and abs.

Thanks for help, also i want to ask what can i upgrade on my MMI, can the software be updated by me , because when i enter engineering mode, it have update manually, and i need sd card with files to upgrade it, where can i find the software update and map updates, here is info about my MMI:

I will be thankful if i fix the problem, also , do you know some useful codes to use on my car.
I also wanted to ask about drive select, i dont have the button drive select, but in vcds i can see carisma etc, i once activated carisma, and it showed the car with select but there weren't any modes like dynamic, eco, sport etc. When i press the ESP button for 2 sec it show ESP : sport, warning stability restricted, and when i hold it for 10 seconds it says ESP OFF, stability disabled, but i think thats not for drive mode.
Also is there any way to see what i have available on my car to activate, because i have enabled 1-2 usefull mods with vcds, but they werent enabled from the dealer.

Just cause you can see it, doesn’t mean you can activate it, even if you change the coding, some hardware changes may be required. For example I can select drl’s for my 8p, but they don’t activate.

As already mentioned @DJAlix or @NHN may be better placed to advise.

thanks for sharing. my VCDS is playing up at the moment so can't share my coding by the steps i followed were:

door electrics
coding
long coding helper
select byte 4
enable bite 2 and 3

I do not have folding mirrors and this works fine for me.

you'll need to keep the mirror selector on the passenger mirror in order for the mirror to dip. I can't remember if i need to start reversing before mine dips or not... :-s I only use it when parking close to a curb!

You actived hillhold by ABS brakes, I did it on my 8P and could only hold it for about 5 secs like you describe, I never had it working to hold it.
The function on ABS is supposed to give you time to drive away on a hill. Then 5s should be enough.

About your mirrors.. Like abmat says, if you see it it doesnt mean its working. Your mirrors probaby dont have the electric motors in them but you have a controle module that supports the function when wiring and motors ARE in place .

This is the same principle for all other options you can activate/deactivate. Just as an example, you probably see some functions for a sunroof too and if it's not there it will do nothing..
