Hi guys, so when I rev my car and it comes to idle it gets rough and drops below 800 and then bounces back up to it's normal idle abit rough like, the only thing that has been changed is the throttlebody can it possible be this? Or my PC valve? I did change the PC valve last year, what can this be only when its idling if I rev it doest come to a normal stop it will have a little bounce and sound like it wants to cut out but does bounces back up and sometimes in idle fluctuates a little between 850 and 950

Need help guys its driving me mad...
Thanks in advance

If you change the throttle body you need to reset it so the stepper motor responds correctly. It can be done with VCDS. A quick job for a VAG specialist.

Some folks say to disconnect the battery for 20 mins then after connecting again the throttle body is reset as it is a bit like a factory fresh start. Be aware that you will get lights on the dash afterwards that will disappear after driving approx 100m making sure you turn the steering wheel side to side. The windows also lose the one touch function. Don’t disconnect be battery if you have a Revo tune as the car will default to the standard tune.

Does this happen only when sitting at idle or when driving and coming to the idle ( like at lights?). I’d suspect PCV in the first instance however if it’s when driving is the car manual or dsg? If it’s a manual then it’s the clutch switch, located behind the clutch pedal. It’s not an expensive fix.

Hi samuel you are correct only in idle and when coming to idle you've hit the nail on the head!!! I couldn't explain it better myself that's the issue and id change the PCV to confirm then and also prt57 thank you for your reply I will also get my garage to double check this I am sure they would have done this already and disconnecting the battery didnt help unfortunately but I'll get my garage double check with the VCDS
Thanks guys

Hi everyone, so to anyone having this issue....
I've been a little eager and tried everything I've come across online, so people are saying throttle body needs aligning but I had no vagcom, so I seen a post where it advised to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and turn the ignition on but dont switch the car on wait for a minutes or so and the throttle body will reset itself to factory position, so I went the gym disconnected the negative cable, come back after and hour and a half reconnected the cable, turned the ignition on and then waited a minute and heard the throttle body making a noise then it stopped ,started my car and and took it on a drive everything seems back to normal for now
So I guess it did need realignment and the battery thing did the trick ‍♂️
I'll keep everyone updated about this in a weeks time and let you guys know if it's still normal

Prt57 thank you for the advise you seem to be right I seen the post about the battery and it worked thank you just thought I'd post it on here incase anyone may need try it but thankyou for the appreciate it
