##Outside now need car for morning##

Just recently bought A4 B8 with 2.0 TDi with CMEA engine. Have done fair bit of work on it and last thing was serpentine belt squeal, bought new belt and checked routing diagram and downloaded online.

Removed belt and was same size as new one but now appears too long put old one on and is now too long guessing the routing diagram was wrong and I didn’t take pictures or notes before removing.

Can anyone help with the correct diagram as all I can find is the one I have downloaded?? Or let me know how theirs is.

while your belt is it off check the one way bearing in the alternator pulley, this squeals the belt when it’s failed…

Most 2.0 tdi are similar to this (only differences is where to put the spanner), is yours different?

Same as pic but has crank, air con, power steering and alternator.

Below is what I routed belt by but appears wrong.

From another post I found belt might go different (in blue) had a quick go at that but might be short will try again .

Can you post a pic of your actual pulley side, it may help.

Don’t think that pic helped.

Got it fixed had to remove bumper and put carrier into service position.

Had plenty of room after that.

Anyway turns out that all diagrams online that I found did not suit my engine and as above the blue line was the correct route for the belt.

Thanks to everyone that replied that’s how these forums work!

All back together and working perfectly !
