HVAC Air Outlet Sensor Right Center 01858 (G348) error

Hey guys,

After some advisory ... again

Scanned the car today with VCDS and got this 01858 error from HVAC module.
Googled it but not much found about it, only info that the sensors are in the vents, behind centre console.

Took the centre vents console out and noticed a little circuit board with two potentiometers attached to each vent opening/closing mechanism but no sensors. Unless they are the ones?
Right hand side one was not operating well for few some time but wasn't fussed about it, as knew it may be the mechanical fault.
Now, it turns out the cog from the potentiometer cannot be turned properly by the mechanism gear and that might be the issue scan was showing.





Is that the correct problem I found?
Did anyone experienced such issue and managed to resolve it?

Seen that thread on many sites with same replies and with same link.
Guy says he replaced the part but doesn't mention which one.
Links, posts and threads are from 2014 so quite dated.

Operating wheel you push with thumb is fine. It is definetely operating mechanism fault I've put in the video.
Seems like the potentiometer wheel/cog ressist to turn, once past that gap.
Once stuck, it will not go back and flaps operating gear will skip the cog making griding noise.
I've swapped parts around i.e. flaps, cogs, gears and stil the same result.

Might it be the potentiometer at fault?

Update on issue:
Got the same outlet unit from car breakers to replace faulty parts. Replaced my original pcb as thought it may throw further errors and made sure all is working. Reasemble all and cleared all errors without single one to come back.
