Hello there

So I bought an A3 1.8 TFSI in Sep. Brilliant well spec'd car and came with 6 months warranty from Auto Wise

There is a very intermittent issue when cruising constantly at low constant throttle - goes to limp home mode and solves itself on a restart. So I called up the warranty folk who said I should get it diagnosed and should the repair be authorised I will get reimbursed up to £69 for the diagnosis too. So I went to the local protyre who diagnosed it as BOOST PRESSURE TOO LOW (PO299) and said it's likely to need a new turbo. However they said they are not the right place to do that job... so questions -

1. Am I right in thinking I now need to go to a place that will do it and pay the diagnostics price again?
2. What is the usual cuplrit with these symptoms?
3. I have a £1000 claim limit - how do I ensure it does not run up beyond that? Protyre quited £980 for something they wont do (!) but not sure if other places will be in that area.

What would you advise I do to get this done in the most painless way?

Too low, could be a few things, you need to use a garage that's up on Audi's tbh, don't go back to them.

As above, take it to an Audi specialist (not a main dealer) who will know all the common issues that can cause a low boost pressure code. In my experience it's unlikely to be the turbo, more likely to be something like a split dv (if they even have one).
