There has been much talk about this topic and I wanted to see if there was a consensus in the community regarding this topic. I know version numbers have been changing so I felt it was appropriate to create a brand new thread in order to document any changes.
1. What is the latest version of firmware for the MMI for 8V(1) and 8V(2) cars? The head unit version numbers vary quite a bit so please keep that in mind. Does anyone have an arbitrary list of "updates" that occurred from old to new versions? Such as subwoofer controls added, fluid hand motions, voice activation tweaks, etc...?
2. What is the latest version of maps available for your respective year, platform, and region?
3. What is the community's opinion of services such as Carsie/eBay/Audi-Sport GDrive Archive to be used in order to update the MMI firmware and built-in navigation maps archive?
I know folks like myself are trying to figure out the way to do it ourselves instead of spending hundreds of dollars at the dealer.
