Hi all,
I have A3 8V 2.0TDI S-line and would like to put some new wheels on it. I was looking at Japan Racing JR28 which are only in dimension 18x8.5 ET40.
I am thinking of getting those wheels but want to be sure that they will not rub the fender while using 225/40/18.

Thanks!

Sportback or Saloon? Completely different setups.

Saloon

You should be fine with that setup you are thinking of.

The 17's are there just as the standard wheel.

Well, I'm getting a lot of different answers :)
Some say it will rub if there is weight in the car, some say it will be ok, I don't want to spend bunch of money only to find out it is rubbing all the way and it is not usable.

If you compare those with the set I had in mine it will definately not rub. Also I know there has been a set of 10x18 et40 on a 8V saloon without rubbing.

This is the one.

And this is mine.

To give an answer for anybody else searching in the future. Yes, it will fit without a problem!

Hi guys,
I have an A3 8V 1.4tfsi and would like to put some new wheels on it. I was saw an 18x8.5 et 42 ( I have 17 on the car at the moment)
With a 225/40/18 set, would they fit without rubbing?
Ps: the car is lowered on lowering springs

Yes they will be fine.
2mm closer to suspension compared to Tinovator's set.

I know it's late but could you provide a few more pictures from the side which shows how flush they fit? I'm assuming it is on standard S-Line suspension, was looking at the exact same wheels for mine which is a 2017 facelift (also a sedan), so I assume it is the same thing, thanks!
