Hi everyone! I’ve been struggling with this intermitent vibration issue for the last 3 vags tdi that I’ve owned (B6 passat (1.9 tdi) ,skoda superb 2.0 tdi cr, audi a4 b9 2.0 tdi cr). The vibration is getting worse while accelerating especially under load like driving up a hill, it is not speed or rpm related . It’s not wheel balancing issue. This vibration is felt through the whole body of the car and a lot of the plastics start buzzing.. I was told by mechanics that the engine/gearbox mounts are all good. The weird thing is that if I drive around a bend at around 40/50 mph whilst depressing the clutch the vibration stops and the car drives beautifully without any vibration for a while then it’s back. It seems that the centrifugal force sets something right but what?? This is sometimes a right bend and sometimes while turning left?! It did not get any better after fitting new clutch kit and DMF on all of the above models .. I’m posting this here in the hope that someone has come across this issue and maybe can shed some light over it. Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks

So you've had 3 cars with same vibration, is it maybe you not the cars or do they all have a common part fitted like the same wheels?

Haha I thought I’ll get a reply like yours , they all have common parts, engine /gearbox/suspension.. it’s the VW group

Sounds like clutch or flywheel related.
Clutch and flywheel were replaced by audi vw specialist but the issue still persists it could be that I’m doing something wrong like shifting to quickly or pulling out of gear before the clutch is fully depressed.. I’m still experimenting with trying to solve this annoying vibration I drive a lot in a city surrounded by 7 hills so there’s a lot of quick shifts uphill I do give it the revs though, thanks for any input!

Have you checked all the engine and gearbox mounts?

Hi you were right it was me ,I’ve recently discovered that I was snatching it out of first and into second a split second before the clutch was fully disengaged as I drive up hills a lot... apparently this sent some sort of rezonant vibration into the flywheel. I can’t believe what a doughnut I am lol. Thanks for putting this into perspective! Cheers!
