I installed a CarPlay retrofit kit a few weeks ago but annoyed at not having a clean charging solution that didn’t have wires trailing around everywhere, air vent solutions were out of the question, so finally pulled my finger out and did something about it.
Used the 12v socket in the centre armrest to power a MagSafe charger puck, however I needed to raise the bottom of the space up in order to put the phone in so had to cut the shape out to have something to stick the charger onto.
I now can’t really put anything else in there anymore as the space is very shallow, but I’m able to charge on long journeys when needed.
For someone who sucks at any form of DIY, I’m very happy with the end result!
