More than 100 journalists from around the world tested and voted on the cars that qualified for this award, which was announced in New York City today. Audi CEO Bram Schot said, "Audi is proud to receive recognition with our first battery electric vehicle as a true performance car." The winning model will go into production next year and is expected to cost around $120,000 USD.
The Audi e-tron GT was up against stiff competition in its category with other nominees including Jaguar's I-Pace, Mercedes' S 500 EV, Porsche's Taycan Turbo, Toyota's Supra 2020 Concept (in prototype form), and Tesla Model 3 Performance.
