59 plate A3 coil light issue

Hi all!
I have a coil light flashing at me, and across from it I think it's an engine management light. The car also jerks and shudders when going slow and breaking.... Is it related, and is it a job that can be done at home without going to a garage sadly don't have hundreds of pounds to part with, so hopefully not too expensive to fix? Thanks for any advice!

Could mean anything. Needs onto a diagnostic to give you an idea.

In my 2009 Golf TDI the coil light flashes when it went into limp home mode, so it was low powered. In my case it was because the actuator was broken so after 10 seconds on boost, it would start flashing and needed to cycle ignition to get rid of it... then it would come back on again the next time it was trying to boost for more than 10 seconds...
I learnt how to drive around the issue by changing gear (restart the 10 second countdown) when going up a long hill for example.

(This is the wrong forum though this is 8L so A3 /S3 1999-2006)

BTW. The coil light is the pre-heater for the diesel injectors. (Glow plug)

It means there is an issue, no other choice but to get it scanned
