Hi everyone, new member here looking for some advice in the vein of most potential buyers! I've posted this on several Audi sites as I didn't know which one was best.

I'm interested in buying a facelift A6 S-Line Special Edition Le Mans.

If I do get one I've decided on the 2.0L diesel manual saloon and preferably in the dark blue that was available at the time. I don't know the official colour, but there seems to be two similar ones. One looks like a deep navy blue and the other looks like a dark bluey/grey, unless it's the light in the photographs and it's actually the same colour?

My eye has fallen on this one: https://www.gscarsleicester.co.uk/u...2-0-tdi-le-mans-4dr-leicester-202204074410166

Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions? I'm two and a half hours drive away from this one so I don't want to be wasting my time!

Also, how firm is the ride on the 19 inch alloys? The main reason for wanting to change my current car is the harsh ride.

Any info greatly recieved because I've never had an Audi before!

Thanks.
Matthew.

Hey bud,

These LeMans special edition 2litres manual are great. Economical (even more if you map it) and comfortable to drive.
Suspension and wheel size will not matte mruch in this car.
Previously I have owned A4 B7 Sline saloon and it was quite stiff, had not much give so was sceptical to go for another Sline. Turned out to be best move in my life. This A6 is much comfier than A4, les bumpy and still LeMans sporty.
Had mine for 7 years now and would not change it for any other car from same class.

All you have to make sure is work done on it, apart from regular service. Timing belt with water pump should be changed @ 75k or after 5 years from registration. Another one should be around late 2019-20 stamped in the book. Next not due for another 2 years, depending on driving.
Glow plugs should be done @ 100k. If not, haggle for replacement or get them to do it within asking price.
Apart from that, check for obvious points such as clutch, brakes, steering and gear box, tyres for year of production.
Car might sit lower at the rear than front (at least avants do) so could haggle to replace rear springs and shocks, especially if car rock from side to side by hand.
Pity there's no front parking sensors or folding mirrors. MMI 3G low but nothing much missed from high version, I think.
Visible standard wear on driver seat bolster from in/out and heel holes in carpet but not that bad for milage and age.
Double check on spare wheen full size, same LeMans alloy with good thread tyre and jack with tool kit.

If all good, haggle anyway and use London's ULEZ as leverage.
