Hello. I got a quote of £480.

Audi A3 1.4 TFSI CoD 2016 Facelift.

This includes:

Fitting new timing belt
Fitting new tensioner
Fitting new roller

It's £350 without the tensioner & roller.

They didn't mention the water pump. Should I change that at the same time? and am I getting ripped off? It's an Audi independent garage.

Since Audi wanted £850 this seems like a better deal.

I have the 2015 1.4 Cod and that is pretty much what I paid at an indy last year but, I thought the rollers etc came with the timing belt kit. Having had a ford many years ago that the tensioner broke up and ruined the engine I always have them replaced at the same time. I also had the auxiliary belt changed in that price, but not the water pump as it is on the other side of the engine.
Hope that helps.

Just about to book mine in with Volksmaster in Oldham. They charge £ 500 so your price from the Indy is about right.

Both Audi and a VAG specialist told me the water pump doesn't need doing with the cam belt: it's on the other side of the engine to the cam belt so doesn't need doing at the same time and can be done independently. My specialist charged me £399 for a cam belt change, and recently quoted me £471 for the water pump should it need doing. Audi quoted £796 for the cam belt, I haven't asked them about the water pump (as the specialist uses same dealer parts ad 2yr warranty)
