I had my water pump & thermostat replaced about 5 weeks ago due to a coolant leak.

Up to now it has been at a steady level with no loss. I checked this morning and it had dropped quite a bit just above min level.

Is it normal to have some loss after replacing water pump? I’ve filled it back up and will keep an eye on it

Yes as it may have had an air pocket, top up & monitor, also check for leaks around the stat.

Thanks. I thought air pockets usually cleared out after 15-20 mins of driving? It took 4 weeks / 200-300 miles for it to drop

I've known that before, but it's just a case of top up & monitor.

Cool, ty.
The thermostat and water pump was replaced under warranty by an independent dealer so if I lose coolant again I’ll just take it to an independent Audi specialist and bite the bullet and pay to get it sorted.

Mine started doing this and is covered under Audi extended warranty. Mine is a late 2018 s3.
just a quick one, did they replace the thermostat housing as I was told this is the problem and not the actual thermostat/waterpump even though they are gonna replace both while they are in there.
