Audi Connect Subscription?

Have just watched the OSV review of the RS3 on YouTube. On it he mentions that we get a 3 month subscription to Audi Connect services with the car, after that you have to pay. Has anyone had to do this? If I look in my app, it says the below. Thanks.

You can check the license expiry date on the MMI in the car. I think it’s under settings. Mine expires 3 years from the date I picked the car up (although was told by the salesperson it lasts for the duration I own the car so not sure if they’ll extend it when it expires)

I was advised when i placed my order it was 3 years from new as per my current RSQ3 SB, however if you want to use the wifi hotspot that is extra.
