So I have just had my shocks and springs and all the various bits and pieces bump stops strut covers etc changed to today as I have been extremely busy thought I would pay the local mechanic, H&R 35mm lowering springs Koni Street shocks! top mounts previously all good changed within the last 2 years perfectly in line before the change today! Caps do not fit the Koni nuts very well but not really an issue Now I have a really large top mount gap. Any advice would be much appreciated thought about the obvious top mounts fitted upside down etc thanks in advance @MPH

It does look like they're upside down, if we look at Google images then I'd say they've fitted them wrong.

Tbh if they don't know the chassis it's an honest mistake as they can go in either way, alas you need to tell them to resolve at no cost.

Update on the dampers turns out the wrong thicker lock nuts possibly came with the Koni shocks and were installed under the top cups, not the OEM ones threaded bush nuts 1H0412365A S l1600 1S l1600 2 so getting done tomorrow and diagnosed instantly by someone in the know.

Tbh mate, aftermarket shocks have their own caveats so you sometimes have to work on the fly, so basically you for peace of mind you are going to use OEM ones rather than the koni's as maybe that's what they supply with those shocks, I mean the bonnet is closed & the bonnet seal usually doesn't allow any **** in that area unless it's open to elements, it would probably of been ok, upto you.
