I’d seen that on Facebook as well. Not totally sure how they’re managing that without the ECU being unlocked because every other tuning box is somewhere in the 50-70 bhp gain.

No worries, I presumed everyone would be keeping their cards close to their chest with the unlock being so recent. I’ll just look out for more people announcing tuning options.

Does Audi have flash tune (like BM3 for Bmw) ? I really want to do a dp to get the sound but a dp + device would void the warranty either way so a tune would be the way to go for me.
I think they actually replace the ECU rather than remap the OEM unit, but I could be wrong.

No idea of the details but I don’t know how they managed to get 650 bhp with new turbo and stuff without being able to map, and the ECU definitely wasn’t unlocked until recently.

They were the first one tuning the new SIMOS 19.6 aswell, tuning the Golf 8R etc. ages before auto tuner gave access to all the other tuners. Doesn't sound too unrealistic that they have R/W access to those ECUs way before anyone else.
Racingline were pretty sure that they hadn’t cracked it and that it was an ECU swap to an 8v

What I remember from the video from Evil GT video is that they (i.e Racingline/AmazingGTI) where speculating they could try using an 8V ECU in the 8Y platform to tune the car. Doubt that's actually possible due to new MIB etc anyway and the most probable explanation to me is that HGP actually has it cracked?I seem to recall hearing something similar, which is why I jumped to the new ECU comments.

I’d expect them to say if they’re swapping the ECU or not tbf. Seems like a reasonable question to ask before parting with 8k or whatever they charge for stage! I did try emailing them but got no reply… everything was in German tbf so maybe Google translate didn’t do the trick

I spoke to a Uk based calibration specialist and he said the 8V ECU isn’t a straight swap on the 8Y.

It’s on their website but in development could just meaning they’re trying to crack it lol. They’re Canada based if I’m not mistaken, they’d have cracked it in record time if they have given how long the cars have been on sale in that market. Here’s to hoping though!

Canada didn't get the 8Y RS3 lol, pretty sure their car is USDM.
I spoke to Uni themselves o/s and here in Aus and they were looking for test vehicles. Having said that they didn't get back to me with specifics so who knows where this is atm,
