GSM Phone Preparation - Nokia 6310i cradle

Hi,

I've specced the Bluetooth GSM Phone Prep in my new A3 (due to collect next week). Someone is offering me a cradle/adapter to suit a Nokia 6310i and they say the part number is "8PO 051 435 R". I called the dealer and they reckon the only compatible cradle is part number "8PO 051 435 BQ". The part numbers sound so similar, I do wonder if the one I'm being offered would actually work OK - does anyone have any ideas?

The ONLY cradle listed for the 6310 or 6310i is 8P0 051 435 BQ.

8P0 051 435 R comes up as PART NOT FOUND on the DIALOG system.

You 110% sure 8P0 051 435 R is the part number of the one he's offering?

Yes - he's explicit with the part number and it's definitely an R on the end, not BQ. He does however say that it's for a Generation 2 GSM Phone Prep - if that makes any difference?

ok. generation 1 usually has a curly cable attached to the cradle.

Generation 2 cradles are just clip on. I would assume you will have a flat plate with a bank of brass looking pins. (this plate will either be on the dash or in the armrest)

If your vehicle is new or even newish, it will have a generation 2 for definate.

You DEFINATELY 150,000% need the BQ.

I know this cos i am the accessory guy at Audi and sell these nearly everyday of the week.

I assume the phone prep is Bluetooth too?

oh...and the reason why the part number is very close to the one you want is cos ALL generation 2 cradles start 8PO 051 435 and then the next 2 letters are diferent depending on what phone its for.
