DataPlug - how to delete / factory reset

Hi
I'm selling my car in a few weeks and have a DataPlug fitted that the local Audi dealer gave free.
Does anyone know how to delete the data on the DataPlug / factory restore it ? or is all the data stored on your mobile/audi account?
Not decided if I'll leave the plug with the car or remove and stick on eBay.

Suspect the data is on your mobile as it’s paired to the Data Plug via an app. Apparently this is becoming an increasingly big problem given the level of sophisticated on-board systems in cars, such as mobile phone contacts, downloaded apps, satellite navigation previous routes.
