Hi guys,
Got a few issue with my A3 2009 TDI Sportback which I’m unsure whether or not are related.
The alarm does not beep when you arm it, the rear windows don’t work and the drivers side rear door doesn’t lock (although you can hear the solonoid working when you arm/disarm the alarm.
I checked all the door hinge looms, and all were in tact except the drivers side…which some had snapped and frayed wires. I chopped out the wiring and resoldered them etc, but still didnt make any difference.

Would it be an idea to try loom repair kit in the link below or could there be something else causing these issues?

Thanks

Quick update on this, incase anyone responds or is struggling with similar issues.

My issues currently are:
1.No power to rear drivers side door (when door is open, no indication on dash), door does not lock with keyfob and electric window does not work.
2. Passenger side, rear door electric window does not work off drivers switch, but does work off main window switch.

Things I have tried to fix this so far:
1. Swopped around the rear window motor/modules. The drivers side rear window worked once then stopped working again.
2. Drivers side door loom repair kit inc. new wiring and plug.
3. Drivers side main door switch
4. Drivers side rear door lock.
5. Drivers side rear door motor/module (worked once then stopped working again).

Unsure what else to try from here as having done a forum, search, I have replaced all the known parts that cause this fault.?

Please could anyone advise?

Did u check the wiring loom from the drivers door going into fire wall as its normal for these wires to get chaffed + broken .

Yes, I checked the other side of the wiring this morning, as someone else suggested that too. But no corrosion or damage to the wires going into the firewall.
The only other thing I thought was to replace the whole drivers side door loom
as there maybe breaks in the wiring further back than I repaired?

Could be worth having the car scanned with an genuine Vcd's as it could point you in the right direction

Thanks. Looking at that sight everything points towards an issue with the rear module (which I have replaced) and wiring/connection issues which I have checked and repaired. Unsure whether or not I should remove the drivers door loom completely and look for damage, or just buy a new loom.

It’s 8P4971029M . Not sure if other 5 door models produced during the 8p years will have the sms loom but different part numbers.

Thanks a lot. Someone suggested today that it could be the body control module also, but I’m unsure whether or not I should add that to my check list.
