High Pressure Fuel Pump

Does anyone know if the A6 3.0TDI CRTD (272bhp) engines suffer from High Pressure Fuel Pump failures? My last car suffered from such a failure and cost a fortune to fix and still didn't drive right after. So want to avoid such issues again...

Is there anything you can do to prevent (already aware of not running tank down low) or do you need to prematurely change the pump to avoid?

Can't understand why it wouldn't be ok afterwards unless it wasn't a genuine pump or something happened on install.

However I've seen some shoddy maintenance in my time, so anythings possible.

I don't read this fault at all tbh & I'm subscribed to all the sections & I would recall if it was a common issue
