Looking like the compressor unit has failed on my 2010 S6. Is this a complicated job to removal and install?
i.e. Can it be done just removing the front end and/or the engine undertray, or another engine out job?

Thanks

Just replying to myself to help keep anyone else who come across my issues up to date;

Replacing the AC compressor was 5hr job according to the info my mechanic looked up (Engine removal is a 13hr job)

Cost me around £800, but that also included him buying a new waterpump with bolts and seals etc.
So I got him to replace the compressor (recon unit), drier, condensor and high pressure switch (all of which I bought from Autodoc for a total of £386)

A vast saving on VW/Audi specialist VRT in Slough who wanted £2400 just for replacing the compressor (although it would have been an OEM part)
