Headlight range module question

Hope one of you can answer my question. I need to replace my xenon headlight control module. My question is does the new one need coding to my car?

Usually yes, it maybe coded for 8p but it needs the calibration done ideally in basic settings, it maybe coded for another chassis type like TT etc.
