Bought a 2007 Q7 yesterday. I acted in good faith but got shafted by a liar who misled me throughout. Long story but all sorts of issues cropped up on the drive home and feeling a bit foolish now. Got the following dashboard warning issues as a starting point (all amber):

- Engine management light
- ABS light
- Traction control light
- Air suspension light

The following also don't work:

- Sat nav
- Parking assist (graphics and sensor beeps)
- Adjustable wing mirrors
- The list goes on

Got a slight smell of diesel on the cabin too. FML. He'd obviously cleared some of the codes before I arrived.

I've put an OCDII module in the car and the following faults have emerged (it's a long list). Any possible insights around a potential common problem with all this? Seem to be a lot of voltage issues. Am I effectively going to be bankrupted by all the fixes. Not handy so not an option to do myself. Going into an independent Audi garage tomorrow. Feel stupid as always done well with 2nd hand cars in the past. Scared it will be £2k plus to fix. Thanks for any advice, good or bad.

Update. Cost of repairs £6k on a 2007 car that cost £5k. Feel sick. Can't believe a guy who is already a multimillionaire would deceive me by clearing warning lights and endanger me and my family in the process. Will lose thousands. Feel pretty stupid now.

There does appear to be a bit of a pattern, a lot of those are electrical faults, or maybe more a case of a lot are centred around one more general electrical issue, which is not uncommon to have a whole raft of faults that are cleared when one single point of failure is rectified.

Have you had it scanned with VCDS as that does help source faults very well.

I had a similar issue with my B7 , i had about 30 electrical faults and were all caused by one fault that wasnt even logged.

I replaced a known pair of engine management relays and all other issues were cleared, so , dont throw in the towel just yet.

I know it sounds daft but make sure the battery is ok. Audi's throw loads of random codes if there's low voltage.

When anyone looks at that list they will either be mortified or not surprised.
It doesn't surprise me at all to see a list like that but then I know how fickle Audis can be and just a couple of small faults can cause so many fault codes that are not really problem parts.

If you are unsure on how to proceed then maybe worth while going to a reputable auto electrician for help before paying out on work from other garages.
To the Audi owner that has to rely on outside sources of repair etc and the high added cost that brings with it ,ownership can seem like a nightmare but it doesnt have to be.

Poor Earthing issues are a know issues accross many audi platforms along with cable age damage in the individual looms around the car, it only needs one damaged cable from the CCM module for example to a door controller and heaps will just stop working , also faulty relays and modules can create a lot of fault codes that are not faulty, a good auto electrian will be able to advise better rather than using the method of replacing everything on the list approach that most garages will take.

There is also the reconfiguration factor that some specific modules and components will need after a fault has been logged on it or work performed on it.
Just clearing the log won't automatically clear all codes, steering angle for instance needs to be reset properly, abs pumps etc need to be cycled etc so ,so and so on .
Others will clear for a short time until the controller is activated but the fault will be logged until it been rectified correctly.

Thanks for the replies all. Really appreciated. Approached a few specialist autoelectricians in Leeds and 1st has only confirmed the garage's position based on the logs, claiming that an air suspension compressor alone is £1,900 plus VAT. Can't see this one working out well. An attractive heap of drunk that is basically for salvage and leaves me £4.5k out of pocket...maybe more. There are some right ******** out there.
