Hello,

My outside door handle on the front driver side recently began sticking and has some slop compared to other handles, like on the video attached.

Has anyone come across this issue and fixed it?
I tried to lube surfaces that I can reach without any disassembly but no luck.

The handle still works, and the door can be opened, so the cable and actuator are fine, but I read that the door lock actuator in these Audis often fails, can this be the first sign?
Although the actuator and the handle are two separate assemblies, so not sure if related.

Either way the door card will need to come off to replace it.

It appears to be part number 8T0837886B. A quick search for used parts on eBay showed that there is a latch on the handle, which pulls on a metal bit sticking out of an axially mounted cylinder, which then rotates and pulls on the cable as it's rotating. I suspect there is a return spring in there that failed, or it needs to be lubed up

I removed the door handle from the outside like shown in this video

I then put a few drops of oil around the rotating metal cylinder that the end of the handle pulls on and the handle started springing back into its place. It doesn't feel brand new compared to the other 3 doors, but it will do.

I saw some grit on the inside of the door, through the hole after removing the handle, so that was the issue.
