Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been posted I’m new. I have just got a 2015 A6 Avant S line.
There is a vibration noise from the rear trim in the tailgate. On the corners near the hinges. I have tried replacing the trim, no solution. It’s currently stuffed with foam, but that hasn’t cured it. I have attached a photo where the noise is coming from.

Any one come across this before?

In the past I've found that the covers on the actual hinges can make a noise - and just pushing them back in place a bit helps.

I did try this and it seemed to help. But, not for long. Are these covers able to be removed or are they really important?

They keep the moisture away from the metal hinge mechanism. I think the noise maybe comes from where they touch the the trim that surrounds the boot lid - so you could try getting some fabric loom tape and sticking some subtly in the areas where they meet.
