Iridium plugs

Are Iridium plugs any better than OEM ones ? The garage doing my map suggested I have them fitted, also there is a tiny amount of oil residue near the VVT covers, I think maybe from a clumsy oil top up. They have quoted £185 to replace the seals and plugs, seems steep to me, any thoughts experience anyone ?

OEM plugs are fine until you're chasing big power (and it's not a dead cert then)

Also I think the quote they gave was rather high, I can get the NGK BKR7EIX plugs ( I believe they are the correct type ) on Ebay for less than £40. I can't be sure till I get a chance to check but I suspect the round covers they said were VVT caps will likely just need new O rings, If so I'll do them myself
