Scuttle Panel Drain Hole -2010 A6

Hi guys
I’m in the middle of fitting a new heater fan and couldn’t get one until this morning so overnight I’ve refitted the scuttle panel.

Looked it this morning and the rain is draining through the drain hole in the scuttle straight into the compartment between the cabin bulkhead where the blower sits and the engine bulkhead but it’s not draining away, it’s slowly filling up.

I can’t recall removing any drain hoses but this can’t be normal, surely it will reach a point where it just empties into the cabin via the heaters??

Can anyone have a look at these pics and give me some clue?

Ignore, I found the compartment drain hole, more or less directly under the scuttle drain, cleared it and the water disappeared immediately
