Hi,

I am looking to do some preventative maintenance work on my S3 8V PFL and for some reason I can tell which part I need as there are more than one that look the same.

Does anyone know how i can tell which one i need?

Images of mine attached.

Also images from autodoc/ebay attached.

I wouldn't recommend buying non-OEM PCV valve as they can start causing issues...

Read the part number from the one you have installed and buy the same one from stealership, TPS or try finding genuine online.

yeah i am planning to find out from TPS but not sure where to check part number from without removing the part.

also the parts on autodoc are of oem quality i believe, Febi bilstein, topran, metzger are apparently makers of oem parts, but i am happy to be corrected

You should find the part number on the side of the housing (marked). I'm not a specialist and not sure about the quality of non-genuine valves, but heard stories that replacement brands can cause issues and didn't fix the problem after being installed. Once genuine VAG part was fitted everything came back to normal.

Got a quote from TPS , £153 for the breather and the hose.

If anyone else ever needs to know which part number will fit a S3 8V PFL see below.

Breather - 06K103495BM
Hose - 06K103213J

Im planning on changing mine next weekend. Why change the hose too?

Probably no need, but i read it can get blocked or worn generally. Plus i have mine kinda wedged underneath something because of my intake so ordered a hose in case i have damaged it. I will return it if mine looks good to keep on it.
