Is it common for tracking to be a bit out on new cars?

It seems like I have to have my steering wheel to the right a bit when going straight on my s3. Before I go to dealer wanted to check it’s not the nature of the 19” wheels and camber in road etc?

You need to get onto a flat straight piece of road and try it - all new cars will be set within a tolerance, personally if you want it spot on then you are best taking it to a place who specialises in alignment - places like center gravity in nuneaton, I have taken a number of my vehicles here as they are really good but expensive.

On a smooth flat and straight road, does it feel as if its pulling to one side or just steering wheel is not central when driving in a straight line.

either way, if it's pulling to one side or just off-center your front tracking will be out and will need to be adjusted to get the steering wheel centralised again and alignment back with spec.

Steep inclination of the road creates that kind of phenomenon. I've found out the car goes 100 % straight when the surface is level, but I need to constantly steer towards the middle line of the road where it slopes much to the gutter.

The steering wheel isn't centralised correctly, if you drive straight forward on the level surface and let off the wheel, and it settles on tilted angle.

I’ll have to try it on different surfaces as I’m sure sometimes it seems ok and other times it’s off center. Motorway I think was slightly off centre, I assume Motorway would be a good test as they are straight and smooth generally
