I have a 13 plate 1.6 tdi A1, today I was virtually at a standstill and I heard a very loud whiring noise, almost like there was a police car behind me, I knocked it into neutral and the revved it and the noise was still there, it went into limp mode so I thought I’d pull over and do a video of the noise for my mechanic but sofa law as I pulled up the noise stopped and hasn’t returned since. Any ideas guys ? Wastegate , Egr ? There was no codes stored at all on the engine side of things. So I’m stumped.

If the car went into limp mode then there will be a code there , what are you using for a code reader some generic readers can’t read all the codes you need a vcds scan done
