Full sized spare wheel

Hello all

im in the process of making adjustments to the boot of my 3 door A3 to accept a full size spare wheel it’s been quite a challenge but im nearly there just have a quick question about the screw down clamp that used to hold the space saver wheel how is the fixed part of the clamp assembly attached to the floor of the boot I cant see how it’s attached as i want to remove it and get a clamp to secure the full size spare wheel

Also does anyone know if/where i can get the dark grey cloth that covers. It as i want to recover it so it looks stock

Sorry, I don't have any answers for you but it does sound like an interesting project. Did you actually modify the metal floor of the spare wheel compartment ? Cutting and welding ?
