I replaced an OEM cam follower recently with a Febi part and I'm getting a really rough noise at startup from the HPFP.
It's the second time I've replaced the cam follower and have double checked the pump was refited properly, all good.
Has anyone had a similar experince with aftermarket cam followers? I've got an OEM part on order just in case.

Febi are generally good, but everything has the possibility of not upto spec.

Have you checked the end of the follower for any marks, damage, did you check if the cam has any damage on the lobe, how's the nipple end of the pump?

All looked good. The follower was smooth the coating was wearing off but the surface was smooth cam and fuel pump looked good.

I use Febi and have done for a while with no probs at all.
Are you sure it is commomig from the HPFP, that wole area can be very ratttley?

It's the HPFP, I'm going to check it again as soon as I can get another follower, it looks like they are on backorder.
