Hi all.
need a little guidance, my 2007 A4 Convertible 2.0 TFSI suddenly developed a fault with no lights, no window controls, no Indicators or Horn, no central locking, local AA man as a favour taken a Quick Look and said the BCM seems to be knackered, I have taken it off the car and opened it up, no signs of anything burnt, blown to the naked eye.
managed to source one from the same year of car, same part number too, question I have is can I just plug it in and it will work or does it need to be linked to the car and anyway around this please.

I also disconnected the battery and left it a few hours and tried again, foolishly hopeful it would reset, it didn’t

I recently had to replace mine on my A4 and it solved my issues after I had to have it programmed, I had no horn, lights, wipers, indicators and no lights. I used one from a breakers but not exactly the same model.
So some functions did not work straight away, local garage use VCDS took an hours labour £60 later my car was back to normal
