Emissions control light

Had my S3 in for its first service on Tuesday, when I picked it up to drive home, the emissions warning light (yellow), below the coolant temp gauge on the left side of the drivers display. Wasn't there before, ever. I cleared the fault with OBD11, but it was back within 2 miles of driving.

Anyone else had this? Wonder whether the car's had some kind of update with the service that it didn't like?

Not sure, I went on OBD11 immediately after filling up and accidentally cleared the code while trying to look for it. Drove 14 miles home on a full tank of Costco Premium Unleaded 97 and the light stayed off. First time I cleared it, it was back within 2 miles of driving.

When it came on, I had previously just got through 90% of a tank of Tesco Momentum 99 after a 480 mile round trip for work - maybe the car took exception to the change in fuel?

While the emissions control light was on, the car was about 10% more efficient than usual.
