I am new to this forum and was after some advice - would any of you or have any of you ever serviced your audi's at Nationwide autocentres after the car is three years old - if anyone has would you recommend this or would you recommend sticking with a main dealer ?

I would always try to stick with main dealer BUT use the cheaper prices other folks charge to get them to drop their prices. Used Nationwide for service/MOT on an EBay Polo we bought for daughter a couple of years ago and they were excellent BUT it's a bit like Audi dealers they are variable IMHO. Try and do a deal at Audi if you can.

Welcome what have you bought?

Peter02 if you said where you are youll find members will tell who they use and what they pay. I have a guy near me in basingstoke who is very reasonable. audi trained uses audi parts and charges a lot less than audi.
SJB autotech.

Others also use independants as long as they are VAT registered it cannot effect any warranty nowadays.

I use a local garage who's a member of the good garage scheme, you get to leave feed back on your experience with them.

Like any big franchise they're likely to be pretty poor - high turnover of lowly paid mechanics, no pride in their work etc. A big generalisation I know but unfortunately pretty accurate.

Agreed, get yourself a local VAG specialist, they take better pride in their work in my opinion as its their business. Without repeat business they wouldnt last long, they're not like a main dealer who can guarantee on business.

Thanks to everyone for all the advice - it is very much appreciated. I live in Leeds and seem to remember there is a specialist in Bradford but not in Leeds. Can anyone recommend any in the Leeds area ?

I have also seen a number of people mentioning fine tuning their cars to get a better performance. I was thinking of getting it done, if any of you have had it done, can you please advise whether it costs much/makes a big difference and needs to be declared to the insurance companies ?

Thanks again to everyone

Again as a few have already said go to an Audi specialist as theyve a rep to uphold, alot of people take comfort in main dealers, personally i wouldnt let the dealers play with a wheelbarrow, theyve already got a good name for whatever reason??? maybe the blindness of a minority.:gun2:
